Poignantly, the banknotes were completed on the morning of September 8th, 2022 – the very day the world bid farewell to Her Majesty.

The Platinum Jubilee “70” Britannia Pound banknote stands as a milestone in commemorative art. Created after months of intensive preparation, the note was designed in collaboration with master artists and banknote experts, and printed in one of Europe’s most secure high-security facilities. Featuring a portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the banknote incorporates the finest details of modern banknote production:

Tragically, the Queen passed away on the very day these banknotes were prepared for shipment — making the piece even more historically and emotionally powerful. Notably, serial number UKER 000001 44A1 had been reserved for Her Majesty herself.
